岩国基地では、基地内でこのところ使用されている最新型の航空機ハッシュハウス（減音施設）を報道公開し、その機能を披露する機会を１２月１４日（月）に設けます。

基地は、中国四国防衛局との連携のもと、日々の運用を行うにあたり地元に与える騒音の影響を軽減すべく出来うる限りの努力を続けております。新しい先進技術を取り入れたハッシュハウスの完成は、施設が物理的にもその位置を地元の住宅地よりおよそ１千メートル引き離した場所へ移設しているように、このような地元の騒音軽減対策の一環でもあります。

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host a media opportunity on Monday, Dec. 14, to demonstrate the state-of-art aircraft “Hush House” facilities recently in use aboard the air station.

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, in conjunction with Chugoku-Shikoku Defense Bureau, continues to make every possible effort to reduce the noise impact of our daily operations on the local community. The completion of the new technologically-advanced Hush House facilities, which have also been physically relocated approximately 1,000 meters further from the local residential area, is one such noise-reduction initiative.
