海兵第２２４戦闘攻撃中隊が部隊交代計画に基づきサウスカロライナ州ビューフォート基地から岩国に１１月１日到着した。

同中隊「ファイティング・ベンガルス」はピーター・L・マクアードル中佐が指揮を執り、およそ２００人の海兵隊員とF/A-18型ホーネット戦闘攻撃機およそ１０機で構成されている。

「ファイティング・ベンガルス」は、カリフォルニア州ミラマー基地へ帰還した海兵第２３２戦闘攻撃中隊と交代した。

VMFA-224 arrives at MCAS Iwakuni

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan (November 2, 2012)　

Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 224 arrived here Nov. 1 from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S. C., as part of the Unit Deployment Program.

Lt. Col. Peter L. McArdle commands the "Fighting Bengals" which consists of approximately 200 Marines and approximately 10 F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.

The Fighting Bengals replaced Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232, which returned to MCAS Miramar, Calif.
