２０１３年の日米親善デーの期間中、個人所有の車両、自動二輪車もしくは原付に対する駐車場は、岩国基地内に設けられません。日米親善デーで基地内に入れる車両は、観光バス、および岩国駅からのシャトルバス（市営バスなど）に限られます。岩国市と基地との間で合意の上決められたこの方針は、岩国市内の交通渋滞の負担を軽減し、岩国錦帯橋空港の運用への支障を最小限にして運用が継続できるよう定められたものです。我々の友人、隣人である皆様へ、基地のゲートを開放しアメリカの文化を分かち合うことは、基地にとっても喜びです。自転車で来場される方については、駐輪場の用意があります。岩国基地では、親善デーへお越しになる皆様に、数ある公共交通機関の選択肢の中から列車、岩国駅から運行されるシャトルバス、フェリー、観光バスなどの利用を呼びかけております。基地は、２０１３年日米親善デーで皆様にお会いできることを楽しみにしています。

Media Advisory (No parking for 2013 Friendship Day)

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan (February 25, 2013)

No parking will be available aboard MCAS Iwakuni for privately owned vehicles, motorcycles or mopeds during Friendship Day 2013. Only commercial tour busses and Iwakuni City busses will be allowed to enter MCAS Iwakuni for Friendship Day parking. This joint decision between the City of Iwakuni and MCAS Iwakuni will allow for Kintaikyo Airport operations to continue with minimal impact as well reduce the traffic burden for the City of Iwakuni.  It is our pleasure to open our gates and share our culture with our friends and neighbors. For our visitors who arrive via bicycle, parking will be available. Our guest are encouraged to use the  multitude of public transportation options that are available to Friendship Day such as trains, Iwakuni City busses, ferries or private tour busses.
