報道機関へのお知らせ - 「日米交流の促進・相互理解の増進のためのプロジェクト(SEED)」

青年交流事業「日米交流の促進・相互理解の増進のためのプロジェクト(SEED)」の一環で、日本の外務省ならびにアメリカ国防総省教育機関太平洋部門が日米の学生を対象に実施する交流イベントを取材する機会が設けられます。

SEEDは2020年より始まった交流事業で、日本国内の米軍基地にある学校でそれぞれ実施されています。

岩国基地では9月20日と21日の2日間にわたり、日米の中高生が様々な物事の見方を培い、相互理解を深め、言葉の障壁を乗り越え、問題解決能力を身につけられるような実践的な活動に取り組みます。

交流事業の一部は、報道陣に公開されます。

ことしは初めて、日米の参加者が学校を飛び出し、錦帯橋を一緒に見て回ります。

Media Advisory – Student Educational Exchange and Dialogue (SEED)

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan (September 11, 2025) 

As part of a youth exchange program titled Student Educational Exchange and Dialogue (SEED), a media opportunity will be offered during an event in which the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific will bring local Japanese students and DoDEA students together.

SEED is a project held at DoDEA schools on U.S. military installations in Japan, launched in 2020.

During a two-day event to be held aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Sep. 20-21, American and Japanese middle and high school students will take part in hands-on activities designed to foster diverse perspectives, promote mutual understanding, bridge language barriers, and build problem-solving skills.

Some of these events will be open to the press.

New to this year, the bilateral participants will be getting out of school and explore the Kintai bridge together.
