米海兵隊岩国航空基地は、岩国基地消防隊と岩国地区消防組合とで行う合同訓練を取材する機会を２月１３日（火曜）に設けます。

日米の消防同士で普段から実施している訓練の一環で、岩国基地はこのほど導入したエミリーという名称の機器を活用した救助活動の想定訓練を、錦川にて実施します。

エミリーは遠隔操作で救助活動のできるロボット装置で、緊急時において水難救助チームの能力をさらに高める、高性能の救命用機材です。

この訓練を通じて、最新のアメリカの救難技術を岩国地区消防組合と共有し、緊急時の対処能力をともに向上させ、救助の専門家集団としての絆を深めることを目的としています。

基地の外で予定されているこの取材に、事前申込みは必要ありません。取材をご希望の報道機関は、当日午前９時５０分頃に現場に直接お越しください。基地報道部チームがお待ちしています。

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan --

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host a media opportunity to showcase the bilateral training of the MCAS Iwakuni Fire Department with the Iwakuni City Fire Department on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

As part of our routine training, the air station will showcase a rescue drill at the Nishiki river utilizing a recently acquired tool called EMILY.
EMILY is a remote control lifesaving robot, and is a highly capable lifeguard tool that can help bolster our water rescue team’s capabilities during emergency situations.

This training is designed to share the updated U.S. life-saving techniques with the city’s fire department to improve our emergency response capabilities together and to deepen our professional ties.
