米海兵隊岩国航空基地ならびに海上自衛隊第３１航空群は、新型コロナウイルスによる感染症の懸念のため、基地と地元である岩国の健康と安全を守ることに万全を期す対策として、相互の合意の上、フレンドシップデー２０２０の中止を決定しました。

基地は、岩国市ならびに基地を受け入れてくださっている日本国の皆様との友情を非常に重要視しています。ことしは中止ではありますが、今後のフレンドシップデーにおいて、地元の皆様、また国内の遠くからおいでになる皆様を歓迎できることを楽しみにしております。

In an abundance of caution taken in order to protect the health and safety of the Air Station and local Iwakuni community, MCAS Iwakuni and JMSDF FAW-31 have mutually decided to cancel Friendship Day 2020 due to concerns over COVID-19.

We greatly value our friendship with the City of Iwakuni and our host nation. Despite cancellation this year, we look forward to welcoming our local community and greater-Japan for future Friendship Days.
