U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. David Maxwell, the commanding general of Marine Corps Installations Command, and a native of Oregon, and Sgt. Maj. Jason Hammock, the sergeant major of MCICOM, and a native of Florida, present the MCICOM lifesaving award to Master Labor Contract firefighters during an award ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, June 10, 2024. Eight firefighters with MCAS Iwakuni Fire and Emergency Services and two Naval Family Branch Clinic Iwakuni personnel were awarded for life-saving actions during a medical emergency where they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and used an automated external defibrillator (AED).
