米海兵隊岩国航空基地 - 10月24日、米海兵隊岩国航空基地で行われた演習アクティブシールド23で、M2機関銃を土嚢で固定する岩国基地、司令部司令中隊の憲兵隊員。アクティブシールドは、岩国基地や周辺地域施設の防護作戦中における、岩国基地の対応をテストおよび改善することを目的とした演習。この演習は軍事オペレーションを維持し、日米同盟を支援するために、毎年実施されている。（写真：ケイラ・トンプソン伍長）
