米海兵隊岩国航空基地 - 8月24日、米海兵隊岩国航空基地に帰還した第5空母航空団（CVW-5）、第27戦闘攻撃飛行隊（VFA-27）所属の米海軍F/A-18スーパーホーネットのパイロット。米海軍航空母艦ロナルド・レーガン（CVN-76）での直近の展開を完了して帰還したCVW-5は、展開中、自由で開かれたインド太平洋を支援する任務を遂行しながら、米軍と同盟国を防衛する航空兵力を提供した。（写真：ケイラ・トンプソン伍長）
