岩国基地で能力デモンストレーション

米空軍第354遠征航空団と第12海兵飛行大隊は7月7日、岩国基地で事前に計画された即応演習で能力デモンストレーションを実施した。デモンストレーションには、米海兵隊のF/A-18ホーネット5機、F-35BライトニングII8機、KC-130Jスーパーハーキュリーズ1機、米空軍のF-22ラプター10機、F-35AライトニングII10機が参加し、自由で開かれたインド太平洋を支える高いレベルの即応態勢と統合力を示した。岩国基地には港湾施設と滑走路が併設されており、これらの施設を提供することで、通常とは異なる航空機運用やその他の様々な運用の中継地として、統合軍を支援する能力を有している。（写真：アイザック・オロスコ兵長）
