米海兵隊岩国航空基地 -- 海兵第５４２攻撃中隊が部隊交代計画に基づき、母基地であるノースカロライナ州チェリーポイント基地より６月１５日、岩国に到着した。
同中隊、通称「タイガーズ」の指揮官はジョン・Ｄ・ファーガソン中佐。部隊はおよそ１７０人の海兵隊員とAV-8B型ハリアー攻撃機およそ８機で構成されている。

Marine Attack Squadron 542, stationed out of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, arrived here June 15 as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
Lt. Col. John D. Ferguson commands the "Tigers," which consists of approximately 170 Marines and 8 AV-8B Harrier aircraft.
