岩国基地では、このほど完成した最新型の航空機ハッシュハウス（減音施設）を報道公開し、その機能を披露する機会を１２月１日（月）に設ける。

基地は、中国四国防衛局との連携のもと、日々の運用を行うにあたり地元に与える騒音の影響を軽減すべく出来うる限りの努力を続けている。新しい先進技術を取り入れたハッシュハウスの完成は、このような地元の騒音軽減対策の一環であり、また、実際に施設はその位置を地元の住宅街よりおよそ１千メートル遠くへ移している。

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host a media opportunity on Monday, Dec. 1, to demonstrate the state-of-art aircraft “Hush House” facilities recently completed aboard the air station.

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, in conjunction with Chugoku-Shikoku Defense Bureau, continues to make every possible effort to reduce the noise impact of our daily operations on the local community. The completion of the new technologically-advanced Hush House facilities, which have also been physically relocated approximately 1,000 meters further from the local residential area, is one such noise-reduction initiative.
