クリスマス本番も押し迫り、年末のイベント真っ盛りの時期となりました。基地の中にも、部隊や家族、またはそれぞれ個人で、クリスマスを祝うため気持ちをひとつにして盛り上がる時期が、再びめぐってまいりました。

岩国基地報道部では、基地内で行われるクリスマスの季節にちなんだイベントの中で、次の２つを報道公開の機会として設けます。

１２月１５日（月）- ペリースクールが主催するクリスマス・コンサートが１２月１５日（月）午後６時３０分より開かれます。音楽を履修している生徒が、コンサートバンド、シンフォニック・バンド、合唱、ワールド・ドラム・アンサンブルなど、さまざまな形式で音楽を披露します。ことしは、岩国市立東中学校、周防大島町立安下庄小学校を特別ゲストにお招きし、コンサートの中で合同セッションを披露する予定です。クリスマス・コンサートの取材を希望される報道機関は、基地報道部（電話：0827-79-5551）へ１２月１２日（金）正午までにご連絡ください。

１２月１９日（金）- 基地コミュニティー・サービス部が企画するジングルベル・ジョグが１２月１９日（金）午前１１時より催されます。毎年恒例で人気の高いこのイベントでは、基地に所属する隊員や家族が一堂に集い、およそ１．５キロを楽しくジョギングで走ります。個人ではそれぞれが趣向を凝らしクリスマスにちなんだ衣装を身につけたり、部隊の参加ではクリスマスらしく靴に鈴をくくりつけ、鳴らしながら一体となって走るなど、クリスマスにおいても士気の高さを基地中に見せてまわります。ジングルベル・ジョグの取材を希望される報道機関は、基地報道部（電話：0827-79-5551）へ１２月１７日（水）正午までにご連絡ください。

MCAS Iwakuni 2014 Holiday Events – Christmas Extravaganza and Jingle Bell Jog

Christmas is just around the corner, and with the holiday season in full swing, it's time once again when the streets aboard the installation will be filled with the sounds of holiday cheer from units, families and individuals.    

MCAS Iwakuni Public Affairs Office will host two media opportunities in order to share the holiday seasonal events aboard the facility. 

Dec. 15 (Mon) - M.C. Perry Schools Winter Extravaganza is Monday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m. Music students will perform, to include a concert band, symphonic band, chorus, and a world drum ensemble. Higashi Junior High School students and Agenosho Elementary School students are the program's special guests this year, and they will perform a joint music session as part of the holiday concert. Dec. 19 (Fri) - The Marine Corps Community Service’s Jingle Bell Jog is Friday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. Held annually, this popular event consists of a 1.5 kilometer fun-run, with air station's members joining together in their best Christmas costumes and units demonstrating their collective holiday spirit by doing such things as attaching jingle bells to their shoes for the run and wearing festive attire.
