岩国基地で外出制限措置の解除を前に課される新型コロナウイルス検査で、これまでの２４時間内に２名が陽性と判明しました。

陽性の人物はアメリカ軍の手配した航空機で岩国基地に直接到着しており、在日米軍の方針に基づき、ただちに定められた外出制限期間に入っていました。

濃厚接触者全員が適切に特定され、隔離されています。厳しく徹底している外出制限措置により、ウイルス感染が拡大する可能性は引き続き低い状況です。

基地内の医療当局は基地の外の保健当局に対し、本件に関連する追跡調査で得られた内容について今後とも情報を提供していきます。

陽性との検査結果を受けた全員が、海軍の医療当局が定める指針に基づき回復したとの判断がなされるまで、隔離下に置かれます。

COVID-19 Update

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan (Nov. 22, 2020) –

Within the last 24 hours, two (2) individuals at MCAS Iwakuni have tested positive for COVID-19 following restriction of movement exit testing.

These individuals arrived directly to MCAS Iwakuni via a military-coordinated flight and, in accordance with USFJ policy, immediately entered into a restriction of movement period. 

All close contacts have been appropriately identified and quarantined. The likelihood of further spread of the virus remains low due to strict adherence to restriction of movement procedures.

On-base medical authorities will continue to provide information to off-base health authorities concerning relevant contact trace findings.

All individuals who receive positive tests results will remain in isolation status until classified as recovered in accordance with Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery guidance.
